LIRA Recorder · Setup guide

≈ 25 minutes per room

Ready for your first recording.

Install and set up LIRA Recorder. Complete these 13 steps to start recording consultations automatically.

Start setup

Before you start

First check the system requirements and install .NET Framework 4.8. The connection actions in step 6 are needed only for a confirmed TLS error. If the connection works, do not edit the settings file.

Microphone

One per room. We send them in advance.

Token file

Your account manager sends this file. It contains a table listing each room and its code.

Computer in the room

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), 64-bit (x64), and a working internet connection.

Windows administrator permissions

You will need the administrator password several times.

Room setup

Follow the steps in order. The checks at the end of each step help you confirm that everything worked.

01

Step 1 of 13

Position the microphone and connect it to the computer

Place the microphone roughly halfway between the physician and the patient so that it picks up both voices equally well.

  • Do not place the microphone next to the monitor's cooling vents or on the computer case. Fan noise will be picked up in the recording.
  • Connect the cable directly to the computer, without a USB extension cable, hub, or monitor port.

02

Step 2 of 13

Open the token file and find the correct room

Your account manager sends the file. Each room already has its own token listed beside it. Find the row for the room you are currently in.

03

Step 3 of 13

Install .NET Framework 4.8

This is a Windows system component required to run the recorder. Install it once on each computer.

Download .NET Framework 4.8 from the official Microsoft website

Download and run the file, then wait for installation to finish. This takes a few minutes. If you are asked to restart the computer at the end, do so.

04

Step 4 of 13

Download the recorder installer

Continue only on Windows 7 SP1 x64. Download the installer on the room computer:

Download LIRA Recorder for Windows 7 · Separate installer · win7-Setup.exe

Your browser may warn that the file could harm your computer. Browsers show these warnings for installer files. Click Keep, then Keep anyway if prompted again. You will find the file in your Downloads folder.

05

Step 5 of 13

Run the installer

Double-click the downloaded file. If Windows asks "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click Yes and enter the administrator password if required.

06

Step 6 of 13

If there is a TLS error, check the connection

Use this step only for a confirmed TLS or certificate error. If the recorder connects without errors, continue to step 7 without creating or changing any file. The system administrator should first check the date, time, time zone, trusted root certificates, Windows updates, and the clinic network filter. Server certificate verification is enabled by default.

  • If the recorder is running, close it completely using Task Manager: right-click the taskbar at the bottom of the screen → Task Manager → find CuratorPro in the list → right-click it → End task. Clicking the X does not close the app. It moves to the system tray and keeps running, so the settings file change will not take effect.
  • Open Start, find Notepad, right-click it, and choose Run as administrator. If Windows asks for a password, contact the clinic’s system administrator.
  • Check whether %ProgramData%\CuratorPro.Recorder\appsettings.override.json exists: in Notepad, choose File → Open, enter this path, and select All files. If the file already exists, save a backup to the desktop before editing it.
  • When the system administrator checks an existing file, preserve its other settings. The secure value inside "Backend" is "IgnoreTlsCertificateErrors": false. Do not replace an existing file with the example or enable an exception during routine setup.
  • Create a new file only if the system administrator has confirmed that a separate configuration is needed. Save it using All files, the name appsettings.override.json without .txt, in %ProgramData%\CuratorPro.Recorder. The example below keeps certificate verification enabled.
  • Save the file with Ctrl + S and close Notepad. Start the recorder again: it reads the settings file when the app starts.

Secure example for a new file, only if the system administrator confirms it is needed:

{
  "Backend": {
    "IgnoreTlsCertificateErrors": false
  }
}
07

Step 7 of 13

Start the recorder and enter the room token

Open the app and paste the token from the file that matches this room's number.

The checkbox below the token field determines who the token applies to:

08

Step 8 of 13

Check which microphone is selected

Open Settings. Select USB LCS Audio in the Input device dropdown. On Windows 7, select one microphone directly in this list; there is no separate device-selection dialog.

09

Step 9 of 13

Check the three startup switches

In Settings, find the startup section and check that the three switches are enabled. Enable any that are off: changes save automatically.

  • Start at sign-in («Запуск при входе в систему»): open the app after signing in to Windows.
  • Auto-record after sign-in («Автозапись после входа»): begin recording when the app starts.
  • Minimize to tray («Сворачивать в трей»): keep the minimized app in the notification area.
10

Step 10 of 13

Check that recording is running

Open the recording screen and check the timer. If it is advancing, recording is already running, so do not press the microphone button. Press the recording start button only if recording is not running.

11

Step 11 of 13

Check that the recording has reached the system

This is the main check: confirm that the recording is actually uploaded. The additional connection diagnosis in step 6 is needed only for a TLS error.

Wait up to 3 minutes after starting the recording, then open the Manager tab → Team → Recorders. A recording from this room should appear there.

12

Step 12 of 13

Restart the computer and check that recording starts automatically

This is the final check of the settings from step 9. Until you restart the computer, you cannot be sure they were saved. Finding out a week later because recordings are missing is far more costly.

  • Restart the computer: Start → the arrow next to Shut down → Restart.
  • Wait for Windows to load and sign in with the same account you used to set up the recorder.
  • Do not open anything manually. Wait a minute. Startup may take a little longer on Windows 7.
13

Step 13 of 13

Repeat in the other rooms

Configure each room separately with its own token. Check Windows 7 SP1 x64 and .NET Framework 4.8 on every computer. Use step 6 only for a confirmed TLS error. Mark completed rooms in the file from your manager.
